There was some rare June basketball news yesterday as WSU announced the men's basketball team would face Buffalo in the 2012 Cougar Hardwood Classic.
While on the surface it may seem like an underwhelming opponent, Buffalo wasn't terrible last season -- KenPom had them at No. 101 -- and it could have been worse. WSU faced The Citadel in the 2007 Cougar Hardwood Classic and followed that up with Montana State the following year.
I'm looking forward to Buffalo players being very confused by the Buffalo! Wild! Wings! sign in the crowd.
