Mike Leach and the rest of the Washington State staff will surely be watching ESPN2 tonight, as the Worldwide Leader will be showing Santa Margarita (Rancho Santa Margarita, CA) vs. Brophy Prep (Phoenix, AZ). If those two schools sound familiar to you, that's because each has a WSU commit for the Class of 2013. Santa Margarita has WR River Cracraft, and Brophy Prep has 4-star QB Tyler Bruggman.
Santa Margarita comes in as the favorite, being ranked the #2 team in the nation by MaxPreps and ESPN. Led by Nebraska-bound Elite 11 QB Johnny Stanton, the Eagles are expected to be one of, if not the, team to beat in California this season. Brophy Prep doesn't have nearly as much national recognition, but still has a group of very talented players, led by Bruggman and 4-star WR Devon Allen. Brophy Prep will be coming off a game earlier this week, and look to take advantage of national exposure, even though they've only had two days to prepare.
Time: 7pm PT
Where You Can Watch: ESPN2 or streaming online at ESPN3
Feel free to use this as an Open Game Thread, y'all. While I'm not sure we'll be participating, Mr. Preston and I will be watching with drinks in hand. Go Cougs!
