HOT COUGAR ACTION: Fall Camp Day 3 Recap

The Cougars donned shoulder pads for the fist time in fall camp which resulted in the most physical practice yet.

Injury Report:

No Wade Jacobson again today, although with Leach there is no way to know if it's an injury or another matter. Christian tweeted that Jacobson is expected back tomorrow. Nolan Washington rode an exercise bike and Rico Forbes was also limited.

Player Of The Day:

With the players now wearing pads you could expect a big hit or two and it sounds like Darryl Monroe had the hit of the day so he gets the nod.

Darryl Monroe put a big hit on Andrei Lintz that had everyone hooting and hollering and such, though Lintz held onto the ball.

Maybe Lintz should have been the POTD since he still caught the ball. Next time Andrei.

Quotable:

"Don't know. Didn't see him. I mean if they're here I coach them." -- Leach when asked if incoming freshman wide receiver Alex Jackson had arrived. Jackson was expected to arrive in Pullman Saturday.

Tomorrow's Schedule:

Another day of practice with shoulder pads which will again begin at 2:45 p.m. PT

The Paul Wulff era is over in Pullman. On Aug. 30, the Mike Leach era officially starts and Washington State fans couldn't be more excited. Despite the Cougars 4-8 record last season, WSU really wasn't a bad team. They suffered 3-point losses to both UCLA and Utah, had they won those, they would have been bowl bound. With pirate love Leach manning the ship, look for the Cougars to improve on last year's two conference wins.
