HOT COUGAR ACTION: Thursday Morning Links

Before we get too far, we'll start with the obvious Jeff Tuel injury update. Washington State finished practice for the week Wednesday and as the case has been all week, Tuel was mostly a spectator.

Via Christian Caple:

Jeff Tuel was present, of course, wearing a brace on his right knee. He did some throwing during drills and seemed to move around OK. But he hasn't taken a single snap in practice this week, so it would seem that Halliday is going to get his chance.

Moving on, WSU produced a cool retrospective of the Eastern game which includes, among other things, plenty of dancing. There is also an appearance from everyone's favorite halftime/timeout hype man/Guy Fieri impersonator. We didn't even have to wait until basketball season.

Finally, as you are likely aware, SB Nation is undergoing some changes soon. The new CougCenter logo was revealed recently and here is a closer look at how that came to be.

WSU Football: Q&A with The Go 2 Guy Jim Moore - Pacific Takes
This week we are continuing or Q&A with college sports reporters and getting some insight into the 2012 Washington State Cougars from columnist and blogger Jim Moore, better known as The Go 2 Guy. Jim has been a well known fixture in the Seattle sports media scene for years now and is well known for his love of the Cougars and his love of angering Husky fans.

Leach V. Holgorsen, Week 2: The Master Plods, The Pupil Sits - Football Study Hall
With Dana Holgorsen's West Virginia squad enjoying an early bye week, the strict focus of the week is on Mike Leach's Washington State Cougars. What was supposed to fairly easy win, one in which Leach's Cougars worked out some of the kinks displayed in last week's season opening loss to BYU, quickly became a dog fight between two surprisingly even teams. While Washington State can be happy with the ultimate outcome of the game, a 24-20 home victory over Eastern Washington, the inconsistency of the Cougars' allegedly high-powered offense remains a concern.

WSU's Andrew Furney: Big belly, big leg, tiny ego | WSU Cougars - The News Tribune
Pullman — Andrew Furney is one of the better kickers in college football, but he looks like he’s one of the better beer drinkers on the company bowling team.
