The first regular-season BlogPoll Top 25, SB Nation's version of college football rankings, has arrived. Andy Hutchins is in charge of putting together the rankings and presenting them to masses, where he highlights some of the strangest and normalest (word?) ballots in the blogosphere.
This week, CougCenter's ballot was featured prominently, thanks to my newfangled college football rankings system:
The first note in this bit goes to me, your BlogPoll steward. A bit of oversight on my part left FBS newcomers Texas State, UT-San Antonio, and UMass out of the list of choices on the first BlogPoll ballot of the year, which likely denied Texas State its best chance to be ranked in 2012 by keeping the Bobcats off the ballot one week after they upset a ranked Houston team. CougCenter's Craig Powers took up the Bobcats' cause, thanks to a formula that also got Miami (!?) the No. 5 spot.
You can't argue with math. Go Texas State!
You can see every voter's ballot, including those fellows over at WSU Football Blog, here. You can see the voting distribution for each team here.
