The Washington State Cougars will play in front of their first sellout home crowd in nearly five years when they take on the Eastern Washington Eagles on Saturday afternoon. The game marks the first for head coach Mike Leach at Martin Stadium and the first with the shiny new press box and suites.
WSU will try to bounce back from their season-opening loss to BYU in which they failed to score a touchdown. WSU's struggled to get going against a defense that consistently dropped eight men into coverage.
Eastern has already played and defeated an FBS opponent, taking down Idaho last week. The Eagles dominated the Vandals, taking a lead early and holding on for an upset victory on the road.
Despite being located just 67 miles apart, the two schools have only played each other twice, with the last match-up coming in 1907.
