Hot Cougar Action: Morning links, 2013 style

It's the first day of 2013 and we usher in the new year the same way we ended the old one, with some morning links.

WSU Athletic Communications

Football

There aren't a lot of things to link to today, but we do have a couple of interesting things. Christian Caple took a look back at 2012 and the most outstanding player, most memorable game, most memorable play, story of the year, quote of the year and funniest moment of the year.

While Christian names some very strong candidates, there are plenty of other options. Travis Long/Brock Motum seem to be a lock for most outstanding player and the Apple Cup is locked into most memorable game but the rest is open for debate.

Toni Pole's interception is a very strong pick for play of the year but there are other options. DaVonte Lacy's 4-point play to knock off California stands out as one other candidate. The story of the year could go in a number of ways and the quote of the year is really a take your pick from a million Mike Leachisms. Finally, the funniest in-game moment. Ken Bone's wipeout is a very strong pick. Does the Fireball chugger count as an in-game moment? Tough one, I'll need to think back more.

What else am I missing? Feel free to weigh in.
