For the first time since I was a sophomore in high school, we have a bowl game involving the Washington State Cougars to talk about.

We've got a bowl game to talk about and it feels so good to do it. The Cougs are playing the first bowl game of the bowl season next Saturday when they face off against the Colorado State Rams in the New Mexico Bowl. It's a pain in the butt to get to Albuquerque from, well, anywhere but the important thing is the Cougs are in the game at all.

Jacob Schildgen from the excellent Sb Nation blog Mountain West Connection will stop by to tell us a little about a team we know pretty much nothing about in the Rams. CSU went 7-6 this year (they got a waiver for an extra game for traveling to Hawaii) against a weaker schedule than WSU but they're very explosive on offense.

We'll also address the "why do 6-6 teams get into bowl games?" crowd with a well-reasoned argument, a rarity for us. If you'd like to comment or leave us a question for Ask Michael Anything, you can tweet using the hashtag #cougcenterhour, leave a comment below or email cougcenterpodcast@gmail.com
