Hot Cougar Action: The day after ASU

The WSU men's basketball team suffered yet another close loss on Thursday. The stories below may sound the same as before, but I assure you they are new.

You can debate whether Ken Bone used the correct strategy in the final minute of the game, but no matter how you shake it, the end result from Thursday's game against ASU is another painful loss for the Cougars. Over the long run, close games will likely balance out so hopefully we are storing all of these losses away for an usually lucky season in the near future.

PULLMAN – There have been times this season, too many for Washington State’s liking, when the Cougars simply didn’t execute well enough to procure victory from a back-and-forth basketball game. Maybe Thursday night’s 63-59 heartbreaker against Arizona State was just the latest in a frustratingly long line of those coulda-woulda-shouldas.

Myron Turner is a 5-foot-11, 170-pound defensive back from DeSoto (Texas) High School. Turner originally committed to Washington State last October and recently took his official visit there. However, Mike Leach and the Cougars informed him afterward they were no longer going to honor their initial offer. So, Turner will be visiting the Aggies instead.

Baseball

Cougar outfielder Jason Monday was named a third team All-American by Baseball America on Thursday. Monda flashed a lot of potential during his first two seasons in Pullman, hopefully he puts it all together and has a big year this season.
