After his arrest last week, walk-on Drew Loftus was dismissed from the WSU football team. C.J. Mizell, who was dismissed last offseason, is apparently going to play for Akron next season.

PULLMAN, Wash. -- Washington State Cougars' head coach Mike Leach dismissed Kennewick Native Drew Loftus from the football team. It follows Friday night's arrest of Loftus in Pullman. Police say Loftus tried to hide two bottles of alcohol in his pants, then cover it up buying eggs. This past year Loftus transferred to WSU as a premier walk-on.

Women's basketball
Lia Galdeira was named Pac-12 Freshman of the week on Monday, the third time she's claimed the honor this season. If the women's basketball program is going to turn around in the near future, it appears Galdeira will be leading the charge.
