Matt Meyer faxes in letter of intent to Washington State

Matt Meyer is a Washington State Cougar after he faxed in his letter of intent on Wednesday.

Matt Meyer, a consensus 2-star recruit and the No. 154 offensive tackle prospect according to 247, sent in his letter of intent to Washington State on Wednesday as part of National Signing Day 2013.

Meyer is one of several recruits from the state of Washington to sign with the Cougars. He played high school football at Lynden High School in Lynden Washington. He chose WSU over reported offers from Eastern Washington and North Dakota. Meyer also drew interest from Boise State before committing to play for WSU.

Meyer verbally committed to Washington State in early November before taking an official visit to WSU in January. He's part of a packed class of offensive linemen as the Cougars signed five high school offensive linemen on Wednesday. Meyer is a natural fit for Mike Leach's offense as Leach prefers very large offensive linemen. Meyer is reportedly 6'6 and 290 pounds.

While some recruiting services rate him as a 2-star prospect, Meyer is a 3-star prospect and the No. 59 offensive line prospect according to Scout. He projects as a tackle, but its possible he could see some time inside at guard as well.
