Ted Miller of ESPN Pac-12 blog fame took a look at WSU's most important game of 2013 and as a result we'll take a look at Miller taking a look.
Miller argued the Apple Cup as Cougars' most important contest of 2013. The stakes will certainly be high, regardless of record, which makes it a safe pick. The opener at Auburn, the games against Stanford and Oregon are also mentioned in Miller's poll.
Here is a bit of Miller's reasoning for picking the Apple Cup.
So why is the Apple Cup now the most important game? After all, most see last year's 3-9 finish as horrid, even with the shocking Apple Cup overtime victory, which came complete with an 18-point fourth-quarter comeback.
Three words: Realism, momentum and schadenfreude.
Tough to argue with schadenfreude.
