Hot Cougar Action: Spring game links

The Crimson and Gray game has arrived which means its finally time to watch glorified practice and be really happy about it. Football!

Jake Roth-US PRESSWIRE

If you've been longing for the start of football season ... well you'll have to wait another four months. But, you will get a taste of football season with the Crimson and Gray game this afternoon. Not only will WSU players be in pads, running around a stadium, but it will be on TV and everything.

As is the case with any spring practice/game/anything, there will be good things and bad things. However, this is the offseason and fans will typically be at their most optimistic. See that wide receiver burn that corner for an 80-yard touchdown? Well it obviously means we have awesome wide receivers. Don't worry about the corner, they'll get that fixed by fall camp. Tis the season of blind optimism.

We've covered the spring game already this week and will have some more coming later this morning prior to the 2 p.m. PT "kickoff". With the game being televised on the Pac-12 Network, we'll have a gamethread of sorts later today, the first of its kind with editable comments. Can't wait.
