Hot Cougar Action: Tuesday morning links

Want to read some WSU news today? Well, too bad there isn't any.

With basketball season long over, spring football ending today and the baseball team not doing much, we've officially entered the dead zone of WSU news.

Today, there is essentially no news. The links include an old rehash of the spring game. That's it. We've been down this road before and eventually I'll come up with creative things to discuss in this space, but today I'm woefully unprepared. Instead, I'm going to do what my teachers used to do when they weren't prepared ... show a video.

This, however, is not just any video, it's the 1982 Apple Cup. If you are unfamiliar, A 2-7-1 WSU team upset No. 5 Washington which knocked them from the Rose Bowl to the Aloha Bowl. As an added bonus, the video ends with some very disturbing, yet amusing commercials.

More than 8,000 fans turned out in Spokane, Wash., to see to see the Washington State Cougars Gray team score a late touchdown and 2-point conversion to top the Crimson squad 22-21. Jesse Brown connected with Gabe Marks late in the fourth quarter and then he found Theron West for the game-winning two-point score.
