Hot Cougar Action: Jeff Tuel, Travis Long and Marquess Wilson continue to wait on NFL Draft

Day 2 of the NFL Draft came and went and WSU is yet to have a player selected. That could change today with the final four rounds.

The second day of the NFL Draft came and went and once again, no WSU players were selected. That wasn't much of a surprise, although projections had Marquess Wilson going in the third round.

Instead, Wilson, Travis Long and Jeff Tuel will hopefully hear their names called on Saturday. The final day of the draft begins at 9 a.m. PT with the fourth round. Wilson should be a lock to get picked on the final day while Tuel has an outside chance to be selected. From most indications, Long is going to go undrafted, largely due to injury, but you never know.

Consider this your open thread to discuss the draft.

Football:

Darryl Monroe will be in the NFL Draft mix one day, but before then, he's busy leading the defense. ESPN's Ted Miller wrote a profile on Monroe on Friday and it is definitely worth a read. Monroe and Xavier Cooper appear to be the two leaders on the team right now and reading Monroe's quotes it's easy to see why he is in that mix.

Darryl Monroe represents grounds for hope for Washington State, hope that the beleaguered program will trend up in 2013.

Baseball:

There isn't a story on WSU's website and the Cougar Baseball Twitter account's last tweet is a cliffhanger, but WSU did lose Friday, 7-6 in 11 innings to UCLA. Although if there isn't any evidence of it online, did it actually happen?
