HCA: WSU among the most improved next season?

Some people think so.

William Mancebo

Athlon Sports released a list of the 10 most-improved teams in 2013 and WSU made the list. That may sound like great news, but despite making the list of most improved, Athlon predicts WSU to finish 4-8. The Washington State blurb ends with the dreaded idea that the Cougars will be "more competitive" even if it doesn't amount to wins.

So why does Athlon think WSU will be improved?

Familiarity with Mike Leach's system is a major component, as are eight returning starters on defense. Athlon goes as far to predict WSU will finish in the top half of the Pac-12 in defense. Interestingly enough, WSU's season-opening opponent Auburn also made the list of most improved.
