We've known WSU would open its season at Auburn for a while, but now we know specifics. The Cougars' season-opener will kick off at 4 p.m. PT and be broadcast on ESPNU, according to Bryan Fischer of the Pac-12 Network.
That, of course, means it will be a night game in Auburn, similar to the last time WSU opened its season against the Tigers. In 2006, the Cougars' season opening game against Auburn kicked off at 4:45 p.m. and was also broadcast on the ESPN family of networks. I think everyone on the WSU side of things is hoping for a better result than that game, however.
Coming off the seasons they are, WSU and Auburn don't exactly scream marquee game, so the ESPNU delegation makes sense. That will allow a lot of fans to watch the game, but I suppose not as many as if the game were on ESPN or the deuce. The production value should still be excellent, so that's a plus.
With the kickoff time set, there are now officially 46 days, five hours and 15 minutes until Cougar football.
