It's another light news day, but this time we don't have any Mike Leach videos.

James Snook-US PRESSWIRE

Calvin Green committed to WSU a month ago and now the Sacramento Bee profiled the future WSU wide receiver. In his evaluation, Kyle speculated Green would come to WSU as an inside receiver and that proved to be the case as the article says Green is projected as a slot receiver and kick-return specialist.

The article includes a couple of quotes from Green's high school coach which say the Cougars recruited him the hardest and he's one of the fastest players in school history, but one part particularly caught my eye.

In last year's season opener in Napa, Green rushed four times for 194 yards, including touchdowns of 80 and 68 yards, as the Titans beat the Indians 14-7.

I know high school stats can be a little ridiculous at times due to scheme and the level of competition, but averaging 48.5 yards per carry is impressive regardless. Green averaged 20.7 yards per carry for the season on 57 attempts. YAC for days.

Prep notes: Burbank football star Green picks Washington State - High School Sports - The Sacramento Bee
"Washington State recruited him the hardest," Burbank coach John Heffernan said of Green. "They really like Calvin, and they think he'll fit well in their system."

Note: New Auburn head coach Gus Malzahn gets all four nonconference games at Jordan-Hare Stadium, although Washington State will be a tricky opener. Arkansas State also visits and will be a difficult test despite yet another coaching change for the Red Wolves. But the Tigers also play FCS foe Western Carolina and Florida Atlantic.
