Apple Cup 2014: Game time, TV schedule, weather, odds and more

It's an Apple Cup in Pullman, so it figures to be exciting.

Joe Nicholson-USA TODAY Sports

The Cougs and Huskies meet for the 107th time on Saturday with little more than pride on the line. The Huskies clinched a bowl berth last weekend by beating the Oregon State Beavers. Bowl eligibility was lost long ago for WSU, as the Cougars come into today's matchup with a 3-8 record.

Apple Cups in Pullman have trended toward close and exciting recently. From 2002 on, every meeting at Martin Stadium has been decided by a score or less, with three overtimes thrown in there.

The last time these two teams faced off in Pullman the stakes were similar to today. UW was seeking an eighth win while WSU was looking to play spoiler in Mike Leach's first season as head coach. In that matchup, the Cougs made the largest fourth-quarter comeback in Apple Cup history by coming back from an 18-point deficit to win in overtime.

Last year's meeting saw UW exact revenge by virtue of a 27-17 win in Husky Stadium. That contest was close throughout, with WSU turning it over late with a chance to tie or take the lead. Today's game figures to be close again. Vegas oddsmakers pegged UW as a four-point favorite, and that has since moved down to 3 points.

Fans and players will be wise to bundle up. The forecast calls for 22 degrees at the 7:30 p.m. local start time. Snow is expected earlier in the day.
