Cougar men welcome Oregon State to Pullman

The Cougs have played 7 conference games and only 2 have been in Pullman. They return home tonight and welcome the suddenly hot Oregon State Beavers.

Kelley L Cox-USA TODAY Sports

After a big win at home against the formerly nationally ranked, but sliding, Oregon Ducks, the first brother in-law and star of the Office Craig Robinson will lead his Oregon State Beavers into Pullman.

The Beavers were picked to finish last in the Pac-12 in the preseason, but have been making waves lately after beating two very good teams in Stanford and Oregon. Led by Roberto Nelson and Devon Collier (no relation), the Beavers come into Pullman with only one road win (at Maryland). Meanwhile, Jacob Thorpe points out in his game preview, the Cougars are playing their seventh conference game, but only their second inside Beasley Coliseum.

Thorpe also provides a quote from Ken Bone with an update on injured guard DeVonte Lacy:

"Just last night he went to the doctor's office and he's still at least 2-4 weeks out."

The Lacy-less Cougars take on the Beavers tonight at 7:00 on all the Pac-12 Networks with Rich Waltz and Lamar Hurd on the call.

Cougar Notes: Men's Basketball Awaits Oregon Homestand - Spokane, North Idaho News & Weather KHQ.com
After playing five of its first six Pac-12 games away from Pullman, Washington State University men’s basketball (8-10, 1-5) returns home to host three-straight games, beginning with Oregon State.

OSU looks to maintain momentum - The Daily Barometer: Sports
Heading north to Pullman, Wash., the Oregon State men’s basketball squad has a chance to reach the .500 conference mark, a situation that seemed unlikely just this past weekend when the Beavers took a 1-3 Pac-12 mark into a contest with an Oregon team that had been ranked as high as No. 10 this season.

A week of reckoning ahead in Pac-12 hoops . . . | Pac-12 Confidential | Seattle Times
A third of the way through the Pac-12 season, two teams are unbeaten in league and seven more have two or three league losses. And none of the nine is Oregon, which 18 days ago was unbeaten and ranked 10th in the country. Honk if you figured on that.
