Washington State quarterback Connor Halliday was carted off the field on Saturday after suffering what appeared to be a serious leg injury. Halliday went down in the first quarter and was in obvious pain early. Cameras showed Halliday yelling in pain as trainers rush to attend to him. He remained down for several minutes before being taken off the field on a cart.
It appeared linemen may have rolled up Halliday, with his leg or ankle possibly getting caught under the pile. From the television broadcast, it appeared trainers used an aircast before loading him onto a stretcher and carting him off the field. Teammates and players from the Trojans gathered around to show their support.
It's impossible to speculate on the severity of the injury, but it did not look promising. From his initial reaction on the field to how the training staff handled the injury, it would appear to be of serious nature. Here's to hoping that is wrong and the injury won't impact Halliday's career going forward.
