WSU begins its 2nd bye week

The football team is on its second break before wrapping up the season with two more games.

Scott Olmos-USA TODAY Sports

For football teams, the season is a routine. Week after week the same schedule. When you write about a football team enough, you also get a routine of your own, which is why I spent a solid 10 minutes confused as to why I couldn't find the WSU press conference videos previewing the next opponent. I was well aware there was no game this week and that WSU didn't meet the media, yet my brain was still programmed to embed press conference videos for the Tuesday post.

Instead, WSU took the week off from the media as it enters the second and final bye week of the season. With the men's basketball team not opening its season for a couple more days, it was a quiet Monday for Cougar revenue sports. It is, however, Veterans Day which is why I will point you to the terrific series from WSU Athletics on veterans who have ties to Cougar athletics. With a new post this year, there are now 18 installments in the series. It really is worth your time. There is also a fanpost from 89Coug in FL from last year that is worth revisiting.

And for the veterans and active service members reading this, thank you for your service.
