The lack of a defensive coordinator isn't stopping Washington State from cleaning up on the defensive recruiting trial. Six defensive players have committed to WSU in the last week. That includes Hunter Mattox just a few hours ago and inside linebacker Eddie Rudinski has pledged his commitment to the Cougs.
As far as we can tell, Britton Ransford at WazzuWatch.com was the first to report. Rudinski is finishing up his senior year at football factory Oaks Christian in southern California. The linebacker held 14 other scholarship offers, including Washington, Colorado, San Diego State, San Jose State and Hawaii among others.
In my, once again, highly unprofessional opinion, the thing I like the most is his closing speed. Rudinski stands 6'2" and weighs 215 pounds but you wouldn't know with how quick he manages to close the gap between him and the ball carrier. Near the 30 second mark, Rudinski sheds a block on a screen then sticks the receiver straight in the ground which got an "OOOHHHH, DANG!" from me. Overall, a really nice pick-up for Washington State in their 2015 recruiting class.
