Washington State guard Tia Presley earned Pac-12 player of the week today for her performance last week against Colorado and Utah. Presley's impressive performance helped the Cougs complete the first sweep of the mountain schools -- on the road, no less -- since the Buffaloes and Utes joined the Pac-12.
Presley averaged 32 points by shooting 19-of-38 from the field and 23-of-28 from the free throw line. She also was 3-of-9 from three-point land during the weekend. Against Utah, 22 of her 32 points came in the second half; that win against the Utes snapped a three game losing streak.
Against Colorado, Presley shot 11-of-22 from the field, 3-6 from beyond the arc, and she went 7-7 from the charity stripe.
The games against Colorado and Utah were Tia Presley's second and third 30 point performances in her collegiate career. She also currently has scored the third most points during a single-season in program history with 504 points; that's good for 19.4 points per game. That makes her the fifth-highest scorer in the conference this season.
The Cougs are now 14-12 (8-6 Pac-12) after the pair of road wins.
