The defensive end from Hawaii is another great find from Coach Joe and he'll make his way to the Palouse this summer.

Coach Joe Salave'a continues to do good work in the Pacific as 3-star defensive end Kingston Fernandez faxed in his letter of intent and will officially sport a crimson jersey next season. Fernandez will graduate from Kapolei High School in the summer and come to Pullman after receiving offers from Weber State, Portland State, St. Francis of Pennsylvania as well as his other lone FBS offer from Arizona State.

Fernandez checks in at 6-foot-3 and between 235 and 245 points depending on which recruiting service you trust. Expect Fernandez to redshirt with some decent depth on the defensive line for next season.

Once he does get on the field though, Fernandez looks like he's got a lot of athleticism. He's quick off the snap and slams into his blockers with quite a lot of ferocity. On a couple of occasions in his highlight video, you can see him taking on two blockers and still getting some push. A number of times, he sheds his blocker with ease to get into the back field. We do have to keep the level of competition in mind but it's still very impressive. When he gave his verbal in December, Mark compared him to a Destiny Vaeao/Kache Palacio hybrid and I think that's pretty spot on.

Take a look at the aforementioned highlight video below.
