As the search for a new WSU Men's Basketball coach enters its second week, it seems that nearly every mid-major coach who picks up a tournament win is immediately brought up as a candidate. If he doesn't pick up any traction, a retread like Ernie Kent or Kelvin Sampson is mentioned. If those guys don't seem like the right fit, how about an up-and-coming assistant like Eric Musselman?
The longer the search takes, the more it feels like the lead-up to the NFL Draft. Every name that gets brought up is dissected ad nauseam. Will he jump from his current spot? Does he think WSU is a dead-end job? Can he recruit to Pullman? Will he move on at the first hint of success? Does he prefer a Sella's calzone with or without ricotta? I sure hope the answer to the last question is "without" or there's no chance I can support the hire.
So as the process is ready to enter its second week, I, like all of you, am starting to realize how powerless I am when it comes to things like this. We love our alma mater and want the best possible guy to be hired, leading WSU Basketball back to heights that, throughout its history, have been about as abundant as compliments from the Soup Nazi. I have my list of guys I'd like to see get the job (Kelvin Sampson and Reggie Theus being at the top). In the end I'm resigned to sitting back, letting the process play out, and having a Corona or two while I watch the press conference introducing Ernie Kent as our new coach.
Since Mark took everyone's temperature on predicting which coach will be hired, I figured I'd get everyone's opinion on a far more important subject. As we all know, it's Girl Scout Cookie season. The time of year when we can't enter the grocery store without being swindled by a doughy-eyed pre-teen trying to offload her last box of Do-si-dos to the sucker in the WSU shirt. I won't rank my list of preferences here, but I will give an opinion on a few. I welcome your preferences in the poll, but be prepared to defend your answer in the Comments section.
Overrated: Thin Mints - Any time you have to put a cookie in the freezer to enhance its quality, the cookie wasn't that great to begin with.
Underrated: Samoas - This is the Russell Wilson of Girl Scout Cookies. Often overlooked, not likely to be the first box selected, but dang if it doesn't come through every time.
Properly Rated: Tagalongs - As a lover of all things peanut butter, these are up there on my list. However, the peanut butter they put in there just doesn't taste right.
What say you?

Former AD Jim Sterk on Bone's contract - SportsLink - Spokesman.com - March 22, 2014
I honestly have no idea what to think of Elson Floyd and Jim Sterk's reasoning for Ken Bone's contract.
College basketball: Want to make the regular season more relevant? Move it | College Hotline
As a college basketball fan, I could get behind this. It would help get more exposure for the sport, since it would be out of football's shadow for a greater part of the season. So of course, as Jon says, it won't happen.

If anyone wonders why the WSU Athletic Department is still in the red, this is likely one of the reasons.
