Senior Sage Romberg scores her 1,000th career point

Senior forward Sage Romberg scored her 1,000th career point against the California Golden Bears in the quarterfinals of the Pac-12 Tournament on Friday. The senior joins Lia Galdeira as the second Cougar to join the 1,000 point club during the Pac-12 Tournament.

Romberg scored her 1,000th career point with 10:36 left in the first half. The Cal defense left a lane towards the bucket, and Romberg drove down it for the easy lay up to score her 1,000th point. She hit a wide open three pointer prior to that bucket to bring her with in two.

Currently Romberg leads all scorers with 10 points in the ball game.

Romberg also has rewritten the program's record for number of games played in a career. Today's game against the Golden Bears is her 127th, Carly Noyes previously held the record with 125 games played.
