WSU announces game against Nevada moved to Friday, Sept. 5th

Washington State will take on the Nevada Wolf Pack with a little TGIF football.

James Snook-USA TODAY Sports

For the second time in three years, a Washington State away game in the Silver State has been moved from a Saturday to a Friday for television purposes. The school announced this morning their Sept. 6th game against Nevada has been moved to Friday, Sept. 5th at 7:30 p.m. and will be broadcast on ESPN or ESPN2.

This isn't a terribly surprising move as that Saturday will be crowded with a lot of marquee games (Michigan v. Notre Dame, Michigan St. v. Oregon, Brigham Young v. Texas and Virginia Tech v. Ohio State to name a few) so to get maximum television exposure, this makes sense. Keep in mind as well this doesn't put WSU on a short week as they play Rutgers in Seattle on a Thursday the week before so they'll still have more time than normal to prepare for the game in Reno.

If you were planning on going and staying at Tahoe for a couple nights (as I was), this puts a definite kink in the plan to enjoy one of the most scenic places in America. On the plus side though, it makes going to these a lot more realistic.
