Joe Salave'a mic'd up

Yup, Coach Joe is still the best.

With his 6-foot-3, 330-pound frame, it's easy for Joe Salave'a to stand out in Pullman. He could be 5-foot-3 and 130 pounds and he would probably still stand out at practice, just from sheer intensity. Salave'a was mic'd up for a recent spring practice and showed off that enthusiasm.

You would have to not want to play football if you don't want to play for a coach like Salave'a. Constantly shouting words of encouragement and making sure his guys hit first and hit hard. People can be so far over the top that it comes off as fake, but not Coach Joe. Whether he's coming close to ripping off a players' jersey teaching technique or jumping around the circle after a big tackle, he's fired up about everything. While he got excited about Calvin Green's tackle, it wasn't quite to the point of a couple years ago when he ripped off his shirt in a similar situation.

If that wasn't enough of Coach Joe mic'd up, here is the 2013 version. That one includes the classic "get your popcorn ready, Darryl" line.

It's no wonder Salave'a is running away with the favorite assistant coach poll.

e Oregon machine was clicking. Oregon looked to have an overmatched opponent coming into Autzen Stadium in the Washington State Cougars. Many remember this game as the pink out where the Ducks rolled out their pepto pink helmets. Many also remember this as the game where Nick Allioti signed his own walking papers with his post-game tirade against Mike Leach and the 89 passes thrown by Connor Halliday.
