Checking on Deone Bucannon with a week until the NFL Draft

We know Deone Bucannon will be drafted, the when and where will be clear soon enough.

Derick E. Hingle-USA TODAY Sport

The NFL Draft is now a week away which means Deone Bucannon could be a week away from being selected. With the first round next Thursday, Bucannon will likely have to wait a week and a day, but not necessarily.

Bucannon has been a popular prospect in the weeks leading up to draft, from onlookers gushing over his physique at the Senior Bowl to a great showing at the NFL Scouting Combine, to fans just ooohing and aaahing over his highlights. Throughout the time, he's been pegged as a likely second day prospect which means he'd go in the second or third round. That appears to still be the projected range, although he has been mentioned as a possible first-round pick. He's been projected from the first to third rounds in recent mock drafts, with Ourlands slotting him at No. 13 overall, NFL Rough Draft pegging him at No. 45 and NFL Draft Countdown projecting him at No. 72. He went in the middle of the second round in SB Nation's blogger mock draft, landing in Arizona with the No. 52 pick.

From searching through headlines, it appears half the NFL is interested in Bucannon as he's been linked to a number of teams. Here is a smattering of recent Bucannon related headlines:
