Earlier this spring, it was announced the WSU's game versus Nevada in Reno was being moved to Friday night, making it a little easier to broadcast on one of ESPN's various networks. Today, we learned the "or" in the "ESPN or ESPN2" part of the TV schedule was unneeded.
Nevada-Washington State now officially set for ESPN (was an "or" with ESPN2) on Sept. 5 at Mackay.

It may not seem like much of a difference between the two networks but considering ESPN regularly smashes its younger brother in the ratings department, this becomes a much bigger win for WSU. They've appeared on ESPN just five times in the last two seasons and only managed to get one win (in 2012 at UNLV) and considering the better numbers games on the mother ship tend to draw, a more winnable game is a nice change.
This probably means WSU gets at least two games in a row on the ESPN family of networks. Although a network for the Thursday night game against Rutgers hasn't been announced, it would seem to be the only other marquee game that night outside of the one ESPN has already picked up. It's not out of the question for that game to end up on ESPN2 or it could move over to Fox Sports 1. EDIT: looks like the Rutgers game will kick off at 7 p.m. and be broadcast on Fox Sports 1. The Reno game is scheduled for a 7:30 p.m. PT kickoff.
