Pac-12 and WSU announce early football TV schedule

The Cougs will be playing at least two games on ESPN and one on FS1. Find out more as the conference and their TV partners announce the early season schedule.

We've known for a while what the schedule will look like for the Cougars this year, but with football season right around the corner, game times and network selections for those games have started to come in. Today, WSU, the Pac-12 and their TV partners have officially announced what the schedule will look like for the first few weeks of the season. For the Cougars it means that at least two of their games will be on ESPN.

WSU will kick off the season on Thursday, August 28th against Rutgers in their first game as a member of the Big 10. It will start at 7 PM from CenturyLink Field and air on Fox Sports 1. The next week, the Cougars travel to Reno and take on UNR on Friday, September 5th. As we discovered earlier this week, that game will kick off at 7:30 PM and air on ESPN. On September 13th, WSU will make its Martin Stadium, Pac-12 Network and Saturday afternoon debut as they take on Portland State at 5 PM.

Only one other game was announced during the early selection period. On Friday, October 10th, WSU will play Stanford in a game that starts at 6 PM and airs on ESPN. All the other games will be announced as the season draws closer, most likely 13 days before the date of the game. The Apple Cup, while confirmed to be returning to Saturday on November 29th, will be one of those 13 day selections.
