Portland State and 0-2 trivia, oh what a time to be alive.

James Snook-USA TODAY Sports

Your undefeated (on Saturdays) Washington State Cougars take on Portland State this week in the first Pullman home game of the season. The new football operations building will be on display, so that should be nice. Yes, with the way the season has gone, the first game with a new building is now a highlight.

There are no trivia questions about football operations buildings, however, so here are a couple of questions about Portland State and being 0-2.

Q1. Since 1894, how many times has WSU began a season 0-2?

Q2. Of those seasons, what is WSU's highest win total? Super bonus points if you guess the year it happened.

Q3. Who is WSU's all-time receiving leader against the Vikings?

Washington State practiced for about an hour on Sunday night to prepare for their Pullman home-opener against Portland State this weekend. Prior to the official start of practice, however, the team took a quick roll through Leach Beach, the sand pit the Cougars use for conditioning.

Now, barring a very surprising turnaround in the tough Pac 12, it will be three consecutive losing seasons for Leach. This has always been one of the more difficult jobs in the nation, but if Leach can't get it done, you have to start wondering what it will take.
