WSU vs. Oregon State Gamethread: Cougs try to turn the corner at homecoming

This is a biggie for Washington State. Get halfway through the season with four wins after a disastrous start and this team may have finally turned the corner.

Troy Wayrynen-USA TODAY Sports

It's Homecoming. Pullman is rocking for the first time all year. Martin Stadium is sold out. The crowd is gunna be turnt (did I do that right?).

The students, alums and fans have done their part. Now the football team needs to do their's.

WSU's double overtime win against Oregon last week is one we've seen before. Remember the come from behind victory in the driving rain at Rice Eccles Stadium against the Utes last year? WSU followed it up the next week with a heartbreaking loss to Cal and then the season spiraled out of control.

The feeling of beating Oregon is Autzen is one most of us will never forget. But it'll all largely be for naught if the Cougs can't build on it with a win over one of the conference's worst teams at home. Washington State is better than Oregon State this year. This is a game they should win. Oregon State has destroyed WSU at home the last few meetings. Like Craig said this morning, it's time for WSU to get the demon off their back.
