Coming into this week's Apple Cup, Washington State receiver Gabe Marks had recorded 1,067 yards on 92 catches, 14 of them for touchdowns. Marks was a semifinalist for the Biletnikoff Award, given to the nation's best receiver at the end of the year.
Today, the finalists were announced for the Biletnikoff Award. Gabe Marks was not included in the list of Laquon Treadwell, Corey Coleman, and Josh Doctson.
Gabe Marks is very unhappy about this.
That's Gabe Marks retweeting the award's official Twitter account as they announce the news of who the finalist is. Gabe wasn't done though.
That's Gabe Marks retweeting ESPN's reporter that covers the Texas Longhorns who isn't even including him in a conversation about whether or not he is the best receiver in the country. Gabe is not a guy who takes kindly to his awesomeness not being recognized. From Todd Milles' great piece on him (if you haven't read it, you should):
"Really? They don’t know about me?" Marks said. "Not as much as I think they do, probably."
The thought slightly offended him. Who in college football doesn’t know Gabe Marks and his prowess as a receiver?
"The people here know about me, so that is cool. I mean, that is what matters," Marks said. "I don’t really care about what people from Seattle think, because there is a school over there we don’t really care for. "They have a nice stadium, and I am going to go over there and run some good routes, and see what happens."
Gabe Marks is not a happy camper. Gabe Marks plays very angry football when he is not a happy camper.
Have a good Friday, UW's secondary.
