George Raveling’s return brings the Cougars back to Bohler Gym

Cougar legend returning to the Palouse.

The highlight of WSU’s upcoming Dad’s weekend is obviously the big football game on Saturday against Arizona State. But the WSU basketball also has a fun event planned for Friday night. The team will play an exhibition game against Pacific (Or.) in Bohler Gym at 6 p.m.

The game is being promoted as "flashback Friday" with the return of Cougar legend George Raveling to the Palouse. Raveling was the last person to coach the Cougars in Bohler Gym back in 1973. Nike has donated shirts for all the attendees to commemorate the occasion. This game is free for all fans.

This will be part of a big homecoming for Raveling who is speaking along with coach Ernie Kent  at the CAF Friday luncheon at Valhalla at 11:30. He will also be raising the Cougar flag before the game on Saturday.

Raveling is a member of both the Basketball Hall of Fame and the WSU Athletics Hall of Fame. He led the Cougars to NCAA tournament appearances in 1980 and 1983.
