Cougars well-represented on ESPN's All-Conference team

Some more honors for our Sun Bowl bound Cougars

Troy Wayrynen-USA TODAY Sports

The folks over at ESPN.com run a great Pac-12 blog and the folks showed their knowledge of the conference with their choices for the All Pac-12 team yesterday.  Four Cougars made the first team with Luke Falk, Gabe Marks, Joe Dahl and Destiny Vaeao taking the honors. Only Stanford and Oregon placed more players on the team.

Falk was the undisputed first team choice at quarterback after having to share honors with Jared Goff on the official All-Pac 12 team. Looks like his 4266 yards passing and 36 touchdowns despite missing two games was enough for ESPN to grant him this honor in a great year for signal-callers in the Pac-12.

I'm assuming Gabe Marks and Joe Dahl were pretty easy calls for the site. Marks led the conference in receptions and touchdowns, while Dahl has already been recognized as a 2nd team All-American by USA today. Both players were honored by the conference as well.

Finally, it was great to see Vaeao receive the first team acclaim that he deserved from the conference. He was a force in the middle of the defensive line all year long and is one of the most underrated players in the Pac-12. Good to see that ESPN knows their stuff.

What do you guys think? Was there any players that were left off the team that should have been on there? Getting four players on the first team is a pretty big accomplishment in a twelve team league.
