The Washington State Cougars football season is over, but the fun doesn't have to stop there. Interested in the Air Raid offense, how Alex Grinch turned around the Cougars' defense so quickly, and a night of beer and food with fellow Cougs?
Well do we have an exciting event for you.
In conjunction with the Washington State football operations group, the athletic department, the Cougar Athletic Fund and the folks at IMG, game film (the all-22 film) from the 2015 season and, most likely, the Sun Bowl will be made available for an upcoming event giving fans of all ages a behind the scenes look at Washington State football.
Some people have asked whether this event is similar to A Night With Cougar Football, which takes a a look at the upcoming recruiting class. This is NOT that event. This film study event, likely to occur around March, will go much deeper into the X's and O's of the program.
The film, edited and highlighted by the football video team, will break down and show just exactly how the Air Raid works. Everything from what is signaled in, to what is communicated on the field, the pre-snap reads, the use of motion to detect disguises, and then the multiple reads for the wide outs and the quarterback once the ball is snapped.
The only way to know more about how Leach's offense works would be to actually get a job on his staff. Helping to present the information will be two assistant coaches (named at a later date) and the three-hour event will be hosted by Jason Gesser and Matt Chazanow in the Seattle area.
Drinks and appetizers will be followed by the presentation, likely 45 minutes of offense, 30 minutes of defense and 15 minutes of special teams.
Tickets to the event will include food, beer and film study, and there will be an opportunity to purchase a DVD of the film study during the event. Tickets will be on a first come, first serve basis. We're hoping you're as excited as we are.
CougCenter has the exclusive for the event, so stay tuned for much more information, including date and time, website information, ticket price, and much more in the coming weeks.
