Mike Leach has earned about 3.64% of his yearly contract in incentives

The Cougars made it to a bowl game and Mike Leach was announced as the co-coach of the year, what does this mean for the coach's bank account?

Jennifer Buchanan-USA TODAY Sports

The Cougars are already having their best season since 2003 when they won 10 games and they will have one more chance to get their 9th win come Dec. 26 when the Cougars take on Miami in the Sun Bowl.

Mike Leach has also turned this program around from a 3-9 season last year to an 8-4 season this year. The Cougars also dropped their opener to FCS opponent Portland State. After turning things around in Pullman Leach earned Pac-12 Co-Coach of the year honors with Stanford's David Shaw.

These two accomplishments have earned the head coach $100,000 in incentives. Leach earned $25,000 for coach of the year and an addition $75,000 for making it to a bowl game. Going into the final week of the season, Leach had a opportunity to earn an additional $75,000 with an Apple Cup victory, $25,000, and $50,000 assuming they would have stayed ranked.

Leach's contract has him making around $2.75 million a year.
