Just in time for the April Signing period (and perhaps Summer transfer season), Washington State has announced the releases of three players: Aaron Cheatum, Trevor Dunbar and Jackie Davis, Jr., who will be allowed to sign elsewhere for next season.

The departure of the three aforementioned players, along with graduating Seniors DaVonte Lacy, Dexter Kernich-Drew and Jordan Railey will allow for six total scholarships open for the 2015-16 season.  Four of those scholarships have been accepted by JC Transfers Renard Suggs and Derrien King and Freshman Robert Franks*, leaving three spots open for Ernie Kent to work with.

* - There are varying reports as to whether Jeff Pollard will be attending Prep School in Las Vegas next season or be part of the 2015 class.  If he enrolls at WSU for next season, Kent will have two slots to fill.

With the loss of Railey, logic would indicate Kent is looking for an interior presence to play immediately.  RecruitWazzu/CougDigest is reporting Kent's interest in Saddleback JC 7-footer Conor Clifford, while Britton Ransford at WazzuWatch reports an offer has been made to Hillisboro (TX) JC Shooting Guard Marcus Johnson, Jr. ($). Kent may also hold scholarships through the April Signing period to see who becomes available after Division I players have been granted their releases.
