Toni Pole signs with the Bengals

After an impressive tryout, Pole will get an extended look.

WSU Athletic Communications

Toni Pole made good on his invitation to Bengals mini camp, showing well enough during the tryout that the team signed him to a contract. Pole went undrafted and didn't sign in the initial wave of undrafted free agents. He received an invitation to attend Bengals rookie mini camp and now landed a spot on the offseason roster.

Landing with the Bengals is a great opportunity for Pole. Cincinnati has a couple good players on the interior of the defensive line, but lacks proven depth. There are essentially a few developmental type players competing for the final spots along the line. Pole doesn't have to unseat established veterans or even outplay a high draft pick.

With Pole inking a deal, four Cougars from WSU's 2015 senior class will now get at least extended looks in the NFL. Xavier Cooper and Vince Mayle should both make the Browns 53-man roster while Connor Halliday could land a spot in Washington while Pole will try to stick in Cincinnati.
