WSU football recruiting: Three star athlete Renard Bell goes crimson

The Cathedral (Los Angeles) product will be bringing his speed to the Palouse.

WSU coaches have been in the Southland recruiting recently and they're getting immediate pay off. Cathedral High School athlete Renard Bell is committed to Washington State's 2016 signing class, per a report from WazzuWatch.com ($). Bell is rated three-stars by both Rivals and Scout. He had offers from Fresno State, San Diego State and Nevada before choosing to pledge crimson.

Bell stands a shade under six feet and pretty skinny right now, checking in at just 160 pounds. But what he lacks in size, Bell makes up for in gobs and gobs of speed. Maybe it's just me but watching his highlight video, you get the sense that he takes strides as long as a guy a full foot taller than him but with the speed more commiserate with a 5-foot-10 receiver. He's got excellent hands as well, making some difficult catches look easy in his tape.

He is being recruited as an athlete but with his speed and ability to miss tackles on screens, I'd expect him to line up at receiver for Washington State. Bell is the third commitment for the 2016 class at WSU, which includes three-star quarterback Ian Book and three-star linebacker Jihad Woods.

Bell's Hudl video from his junior year is embedded below.
