Wazzu finished up its formal allotment of spring practice time and the Cougars have released a depth chart that will have to tide you over until fall camp rolls around in August. There's not a whole lot different from what Jeff guessed at before the Crimson and Gray game.
A few notes:
- Defensive lineman Ngalu Tapa and linebackers Frank Luvu and Greg Hoyd aren't listed for whatever reason, and all three should push to crack the two-deep in the fall.
- Converted safety Darius Lemora is the starter at nickelback, where he's backed up by two walk-ons. This spot could see a lot of competition come fall, especially from some new guys in the 2015 signing class. Kameron Powell might someone to keep an eye on if the Safety position is locked up; he has the right kind of size and speed for it. Traditionally, you convert a corner to play nickel ... just something to keep in mind when all the new defensive backs show up on campus.
- David Bucannon moved to corner from safety.
- The starting offensive line looks pretty set, not nearly as much shifting around with the starters. Refreshing.
