Good news, football fans. When the Cougars travel to Piscataway, N.J. for their nonconference game against the Rutgers Scarlet Knights, the game will kick off at a reasonable hour of 12:30 p.m. PT for those watching on the west coast.

Two things that all Cougar fans can appreciate about this game:
1) The game is kicking off at 12:30 p.m. PACIFIC, not 12:30 p.m. EASTERN. Waking up for a 9:00 a.m. game on a Saturday morning would have been brutal for all of us, and I have no doubt that many Cougar fans would sleep through the game ... thanks to their activities on the Friday night before.
2) The game is on ESPN2/ESPNU. There was a legitimate chance that we would miss the game due to the Big Ten Network having the game rights (Pac-12 had the rights to last years game) but luckily the ESPN networks picked up the game. As time gets closer, I'd guess that the game would be slated for ESPNU. With all due respect to both football programs, I imagine there is a more marquee game that day that ESPN2 would like to broadcast that day.
Be strong. Cougar football will be here before you know it.
Baseball
Former OSU assistant should provide jolt to once-proud Washington State program
Perhaps Lees isn’t such a big name to casual college baseball fans that he will make people immediately sit up and take notice, but he is just the right guy for the WSU program.
