Former Cougs Mayle, Cooper make NFL preseason debut

The Cleveland Browns played their first preseason game on Thursday night and two staples of the 2014 Cougars saw their first professional action. Xavier Cooper and Vince Mayle made their preseason debut last night in the Browns 20-17 loss to the Washington Redskins

Cooper, a third round selection in the 2015 draft, recorded one tackle, a sack in his first game with the Browns. Cooper was the only Browns player to register a sack in the game.

2014 fourth round pick Vince Mayle had two receptions for 28 yards on three targets. Sadly, the one ball he didn't catch resulted in the biggest play. A pass from Thad Lewis bounced off the stretched out hands of Mayle and was intercepted by Washington.

The Browns will next be in action against the Bills Thursday Aug. 20 at 5 pm ET, you can catch the game on ESPN.
