WSU football recruiting: Cougs land towering quarterback Cody Brewer

The 6'6" product from Corpus Christi has pledged crimson.

One thing WSU head coach Mike Leach wants in every recruiting class is a quarterback. Just a few days after losing 2016 commit Ian Book to a small Catholic school in Indiana, the Cougs have their quarterback again. Cougfan was the first to report that Cody Brewer, a senior to be from Corpus Christi, is giving his verbal to Washington State.

The first thing to jump out at you about Brewer is his size: he stands 6'6" and weighs 225 pounds. That's a pretty big galdang quarterback. During his junior season, he completed 60 percent of his passes and threw 35 touchdowns to 10 interceptions. He also ran for nine more so he seems to be relatively fleet of foot for a guy his size. Scout ranks him as a two-star prospect while 247 composite ranking pegs him at three-stars.

Lets get to the highlight video which starts with a whole lot of f-- it, go deep:

On the first pass, Brewer throws it almost 60 yards through the air and follows up with similar length bombs.  Actually the entire first couple minutes is just bombs on bombs, which is fun. Brewer does have some trouble hitting guys in stride deep down the field but, then again, most quarterback do. His throws look to be accurate and fairly sharp, getting to the target quickly. Later on in the video (around the 7:30 mark) he takes a couple of snaps and runs it on a designed draw and looks relatively quick.

A nice pick up for Mike Leach and company who look like they've found their quarterback for the 2016, again.
