Mike Leach is the head coach of the Washington State Cougars. Mike Leach is also the former long snapper for the Arizona Cardinals. Just because they have the same name, doesn't mean they're the same person.
This is a concept that seems to confuse trolls on Twitter.
See, our Mike Leach has said a lot of provocative stuff recently. A couple of weeks ago he flat out said that Arizona State was still stealing signs. This earned his some backlash from the Pac-12, Sun Devil fans, and even Todd Graham himself. Then, just Monday, Leach turned his attention to the Chicago Cubs:
Mike Leach: "Every yuppie with a BMW and designer jeans is a Cubs fan, and they refer to them as "my Cubbies."
— Lindsay Joy (@SWXLindsayJoy) October 24, 2016
Again, fans of the team in question, didn't take kindly to Leach's comments.
So ASU and Chiacgo Cub fans decided to vent their frustrations, and they turned to Twitter. The only issue is... A lot of them directed their anger at the wrong Mike Leach.
@Coach_Leach is WSU's Mike Leach. @MikeLeach82 is not WSU's Mike Leach... But that doesn't mean he can't have some fun with people that think he is.
@MikeLeach82 You sir, are a GRADE A, A-Hole!!!

Been a long time since I received an "A" GRADE in anything. https://t.co/ZUgm2LL65t

Hopefully, @MikeLeach82 kills himself soon. Go Cubs!

I think I'll wait till after the next season of @SHO_Homeland. https://t.co/9F2yXAUD7z

@MikeLeach82 Best to not bring any unwanted attention to your lack of recent success...and your history of abusing players.
— Justin Carr (@JCarr110) October 25, 2016
"Lack of recent success"? I made 4 birdies yesterday Justin. That's success in my book. https://t.co/jJJf6II3yv

And then, of course, there was just one guy who didn't quite get what was going on.

@MikeLeach82 I guess you have to have a great sense of humor with a six and four record and no bowl games
— Rich Young (@gorrilla97) October 25, 2016
Sometimes you have to look deep within yourself (and your tweets) and just smile. https://t.co/n5Srd3FlFk

Our Arizona Cardinals sister blog Revenge of the Birds has a couple more of Leach's responses here.

Regime change came quickly in the Pac-12, and it does not appear to be a one-year blip, either. It’s Week 9 and the Washington schools have yet to lose a conference game.
