Taylor Mims named volleyball Pac-12 player of the week

Washington State Sophomore Taylor Mims was named the Pac-12 volleyball offensive player of the week on Monday after two stellar performances. The middle blocker helped lead the Cougars (14-2, 4-0) to their third consecutive win over a top-10 opponent and their fourth straight win. The Cougars upset then ranked 9th Stanford (3-2) on Friday then took on California (3-0) on Sunday.

Mims finished her match against the Cardinal with 13 kills in 26 of her attacks, had one ace and eight blocks. She then added another eight kills and five blocks against California on Sunday.

Hitting .387 on the season has Mims atop the team leaderboard and 35th in the nation. With 86 total blocks Mims finds herself ranked 13th in the nation.

This is the second straight Pac-12 offensive player of the week for the Cougars as Kyra Holt was given the honor the previous week for her efforts against Washington and UCLA.
