Grant Porter, a three-star receiver out of Upland, Calif., inked his national letter of intent Wednesday, officially joining former teammates Tyler Hilinski and Kameron Powell, both of whom were highly rated prospects in the 2015 class.

Washington State has had plenty of success recruiting the Inland Empire since linebackers coach Ken Wilson arrived on campus. Over the last two recruiting classes, one school in particular has produced three top prospects who have signed on to rock the crimson and gray.

Porter picked up an offer from Washington State early in the 2016 cycle and made a verbal commitment in July at a recruiting event with his 7-on-7 team, which is one of the top squads in the country, Ground Zero. The 6-foot-2, 184-pound receiver picked WSU over offers from Boise State, Colorado State, Kansas, San Diego State, San Jose State and Utah.

A consensus three-star prospect, Porter is ranked the No. 84 overall prospect in California by and the No. 18 receiver in the West. As a senior, Porter dealt with a stress fracture in his foot prior to the start of the season, eventually seeing time in just three games.

For his career, the Upland standout posted nearly 16 yards per catch, showing off an ability to stretch the field with his size and vertical ability, something he'll be expected to do at outside receiver on the Palouse. While he has a lot of ability, a redshirt season is likely in 2016, though he'll certainly get a chance to compete for snaps from day one.

Scouting report

Aggressive blocker, which is always nice to see in a highlight package. Decent speed for his size, where he absolutely shines is in his route running. Really defined in his routes and sharp out of breaks. Great looking hands too. Projects well to either outside receiver position.
