Cougar baseball set to take on Gonzaga

The Washington State baseball team will head up highway 195 to take on Gonzaga in Spokane on Tuesday at 6 pm.

WSU Athletic Communications

The Washington State Cougars (9-16) are not off to the start they had wished for. They have had two consecutive winning streaks when they won all 3 games against Northeastern March 11-13 and another when they won 2 games back in February against Houston Baptist and Prairie View A&M.

On Tuesday, the Cougars are heading up Highway 195 to take on the Gonzaga Bulldogs (16-10) at 6 pm at the Patterson Baseball Complex in Spokane.

We will likely see Ryley Widell (1-0, 11.25 ERA, 8 IP) on the mound for the Cougars with Justin Blatner (0-0, 3.86 ERA, 4.2 IP) on the mound for the Bulldogs.

The Cougars are coming off of losing a series to Arizona State 2-1 and losing the final game 18-3. Gonzaga has won 5 of its last 6 games with their only loss in that stretch coming to Washington, a series in which they split.

The Cougars will head to Arizona after they finish up in Spokane to take on the Wildcats for a 3-game series.

On March 22, the Cougars were scheduled to host the Bulldogs but the game was postponed due to rain and snow. That game will instead be played on April 19th.
